Pandas (2 years to 3 years old)
For the Pandas, activities are based on free games. Toys are available in multiple copies so that each child may have the same toy as his/her buddy.
The classroom is organized into designated areas for different activities such as cooking, dolls, do-it-yourself, garage, etc. These defined spaces create conditions that favor games in small groups. During the morning, motility games are organized with cars, balloons...etc. Handling of different substances such as sand, water and Play-Doh help develop dexterity.
Reading and listening to French music help children improve their speech and learn additional vocabulary.
Performance exercises are organized with sounds (percussion, piano, sound effects, songs) and shapes.
Art projects allow children to take pride in their work and differentiate themselves from their classmates. Children develop imagination and dexterity. Logic is introduced as children learn to count, sort, use scissors and identify basic geometric shapes.
As they grow, children begin to understand the concept of a group and learn the early stages of socialization.
All meals are prepared fresh daily at LJDL and consist of healthy dishes such as fish, soups, yogurt and fruit.
Children sit together around the table where they talk about different diets and foods and begin to learn manners.
Adults invite children to try new foods but never force them to eat.
The children adapt to LJDL’s rythm and nap in the early afternoon.
